Hello Incredible Orangethorpe Families

I hope you are enjoying your long weekend in observance of Memorial Day.

Thank you to the families who joined us for the 5th and 6th grade band performance, they have learned so much this year.

Thank you to the families who joined us for our final hockey games at Richman. Once again our students showed great sportsmanship and I am proud of how they played and represented Orangethorpe. Also thank you to the families that came to watch Encore's soccer team.

Information/Reminders:

Mon May 25 - No school in observance of Memorial Day

Thurs May 28 - 6th grade promotion - 8:30am on the blacktop - enter through gate 7 only. The gate will open at 8:10am

Thurs May 28 - Kinder promotion - 10:30am in the MPR.  Doors will open at 10:10am

Fri May 29 - Last day of school - 11:30 dismissal

Promotion tickets Kinder & 6th grade:  Tickets will be sent home on Tuesday after Memorial day.  Each family will receive 4 tickets.  If you need more, you will need to call the office to let them know how many extra tickets you are wanting. Your name will be put on a waiting list but there is no guarantee that you will receive the extra tickets.

Lost and Found:  Since this is the last week of school, if your child is missing an item, please check our lost and found.  Any items left after Friday May 29 will be donated.

Attention 6th grade parents:  The application window for Independent Study PE is open May 1 through May 29 for the upcoming 26-27 school year. ISPE is an option for students in grades 7–8 who are engaged in national or international level athletic training, averaging 10 or more hours per week Monday through Friday, as an alternative to traditional PE. For more information, please visit the ISPE website. If you have questions or would like next steps, please contact danielle_guerrero@myfsd.org or 714-447-2870 during the application window.

Encore: Encore Program registration for the 2026–2027 school year opens  May 1 through June 15, 2026. Current and new families interested in enrolling their student should complete registration through 6Crickets during this window. Please see attached flyers for program details and the direct registration link.  If you have questions, please call Encore Programs office 714-447-7477.

I sincerely appreciate how our community and partnerships between staff and families has grown over this last year.  With the support of everyone, our students, your children, are thriving and excelling in everything they are doing.  I am honored to be the principal of Orangethorpe and cannot imagine being anywhere else.  So beside saying THANK YOU there is only one thing left to say:
